Magpies was thrilled to donate a defibrillator to the Mackay Women's Services earlier this morning πŸ–€

Our Duty Operations Manager Jasmine has tirelessly campaigned to raise both funds and awareness about the importance of defibrillators for charities, organisations, and various locations within the Mackay community that might otherwise lack this life-saving resource.

She shared her excitement about presenting the defibrillator to the Mackay Women's Service, highlighting how this essential equipment will benefit all visitors to the centre.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this cause. Your support makes a difference!

Congratulations to @Brokenballerinainc on successfully securing a Magpies Thriving Community Grant! 🌟

In 2018 Jules and her husband Peter started Broken Ballerina Foundation and commenced raising funds and awareness for domestic violence victims and survivors. This was Jules’ way of helping victims as she had previously faced her own challenges alone and she wanted to help and show them they’re supported and there is a way out of the cycle of domestic violence.

Every year, @Brokenballerinainc hosts a candle lighting vigil in May (domestic violence month) to pay tribute to the victims of domestic violence who lost their lives. This year the event is being held on Saturday 18th May from 5pm until 9pm at the Eimeo Surf Lifesaving Club. Funds from the grant will go towards cost of entertainment on the night and other expenses. Magpies is thrilled to offer financial assistance to help support their upcoming event!
