Magpies Community Grants, a Magpies Sporting Club initiative provides financial assistance 3 times a year to winning applicants within 3 grant categories:
Magpies Community program, a Magpies Sporting Club initiative – aims to support schools, sporting clubs, charities and non-profit organisations within the greater Mackay region by way of donations: raffle items, gift cards, room hire, use of fields or facilities or professional assistance. Applications to request a donation can be made by completing the online application form below.
With every new membership Magpies Sporting Club donates $2 to one of four charities that the new members choose when filling out their membership application form. Each financial year Magpies Sporting Club offer charities the chance to be one of these four donation recipients for the next financial year. The chosen four charities will receive their cash donations based on how many new members select their charity on the membership forms for that financial year. Your charity can apply via our website, click on the button below.
We have several donation boxes throughout our club, brimming with generosity from our valued patrons who have contributed their small (or sometimes big) change. The collection period for donation boxes that will go to the winning charity of Q3 is Tuesday 7th July – Monday 5th October 2026. Nominations are now open to charity and community organisations to apply to receive donations in Q4. See Magpies Sporting Club Facebook page to submit your nomination. Thanks to the incredible support of our members, we’ve raised $945.30 to help rescue dogs across the Mackay region.
Today, we met Leo, a beautiful rescue dog living with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) — a lifelong condition that makes it difficult for his body to properly digest food.
Despite his challenges, Leo is getting the care and support he needs to live a happy, healthy life. 🐶❤️
Your donations help organisations like Lucy’s Lucky Tags continue giving dogs like Leo the second chance they deserve.

💙 Magpies Community Grants awarded $14,750 of grants yesterday, to a total of 35 deserving recipients at a celebratory afternoon tea attended by @andrewwillcoxmp and @nigeldaltonmp Congratulations to all grant winners.

We’re excited to announce Broken Ballerina Inc. as our current donation tin recipient! 💗
From 6th July to 5th October, every bit of loose change collected will go towards supporting victim survivors of domestic violence and providing assistance in the ways they need it most.
This cause is incredibly important to us, and we’re proud to support an organisation dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence.

Feel-good post of the day 🖤
A wonderful friendship has been formed between @magpies_jrl_mackay U/11 Black team and a team from the Torres Strait Islands during the Laurie Spina Shield 2026.
As a gesture of mateship, our Magpies players gifted the team some Magpies gear, which was warmly received. It’s moments like these that show rugby league is about so much more than the game.

Today we were proud to present a donation of $1,547 to @ronaldmcdonaldhouse_na – Family Room Mackay.
The Family Room provides a much needed home-away-from-home within the hospital for families with seriously ill or injured children, offering a calm and comfortable space to rest, recharge, access kitchen and laundry facilities, and receive support during incredibly difficult times.
This donation was made possible through our Easter Hamper Raffle, so a huge thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and helped make a real difference.

It was a great night at Sologinkin Oval as our Magpies affiliated clubs came together for some fun, food and a bit of friendly rivalry. After a series of challenges, the competition was fierce, but a few clubs rose to the top!
